Welcome
Wow! This was super easy getting this blog up and running! I wish I would have thought about doing this sooner. I could have been speaking with all of you MONTHS ago! But alas, I am a procrastinator to the core and it was only recently that I decided to jump on the marketing bandwagon and create my Christy's Bridal Blog to help spread the word a little more about Christy's Bridal, and all that we are.
Now please do not be fooled by that initial introduction. I in no way intend to solely utilize this blog for my own marketing purposes. The intentions of this blog are to keep all of our potential customers informed of upcoming events and store happenings. It is intended to enlighten the rest of the blogging community about bridal industry happenings, and it is a place for people to ask questions and get them answered immediately! This is a complicated industry. I'm only here to help.
I suppose if you're going to entrust me with your most intimate bridal questions, and become my loyal blogging follower, you want to know a little about who I am.
I am the Christi of "Christy's Bridal". Yes, the name spelling gets a little confusing. But in choosing a name, my mom and I decided that the store was definitely to be named after me, but the "i" in my name was not elegant enough for a bridal salon. Enter, the "Christy".
While the store is named after me, I am not the owner of the salon; that would be my mom, Carol. Yes, this salon is her pride and joy. I'm just along for the name recognition. =)
I graduated from the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago, IL and upon graduating I decided to move back up to Wisconsin to help my mom get her store off the ground. It's been great working together and it has been an amazing experience for me as well. Graduating with a fashion degree, sometimes it can be tough to find a job in your field without the proper training. Thankfully, I've achieved that proper training through my time here at the salon. I'll be sad to see my time here end. But until then, I'm working diligently to get our name out there, and continuing to do my best to make our brides the happiest they can be.
I live on the East Side of Milwaukee, and make the daily 1 hour commute through construction to Burlington, WI. I love my drive to and from work. It's a time for me to unwind and let loose when I become tense from the bridezillas in the store and it gives me a lot of time to reflect on the day and decide what I can do better. You can do a lot of thinking in two hours each day!
I'm very excited about this blogging project. I feel it will be a true benefit to our website, our salon, and to our potential and current customers. I've been an avid personal blogger for many years now, it's only natural that I take this on professionally.
Now if only I were getting paid extra to be doing this =)
